CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Fisk University Bulldog Gymnastics Team (Gym Dogs) opens their 2026 season this weekend in a tri-meet against Southeast Missouri State University and Central Michigan University, returning to a venue that holds special significance for the program. It was here that Fisk recorded a program-best 194.600 and secured its first program win over both a Division I and Division II institution.

Fisk has faced Southeast Missouri State University every season since the inception of the program in 2022. The meet will mark the first time the Bulldogs face off against Central Michigan University. The tri-meet will serve as an early-season benchmark as the Bulldogs begin to establish consistency and refine lineups.

"This season is about building on what we've already proven and continuing to move the standard forward," said Head Coach Nuriya Mack. "We're intentional about how we start, and this meet gives us the opportunity to set the tone and honor the momentum we created last year while preparing for what's next."

With more than half of the lineups being returners, the Gym Dogs enter the season focused on continuing the momentum built in 2025 and using this competition as a launching pad for the year ahead. With a reduced roster, many, if not all, Bulldogs are expected to compete and/or appear in exhibition spots as the team sets its competitive foundation.
