Men’s Basketball Travels to Lexington, Kentucky in Search of First Win
LEXINGTON, KY - Following a tough loss to UT Southern, the Bulldogs are now gearing up for a road trip to Lexington, Kentucky with hopes of securing their first victory of the season. The team is looking to build on the momentum from their recent comeback attempts and address the turnover issues that have plagued them early in the season. With three consecutive games ahead, starting with the Lindsey Wilson Brady Button Memorial Classic, the Bulldogs will need a strong performance as they face new challenges on the road against host Lindsey Wilson, and perennial NAIA qualifier Campbellsville University.
"It doesn't get any easier for us this weekend," said Fisk Head Coach Jeremiah Crutcher. "Both teams are well coached and will bring a number of challenges for us. We made this schedule tough for a reason. We had some good practices this week, so we will see what happens."
LWU has a 5-0 record in the series. The two teams have not played since 2019. All five games have been played in Lexington. Campbellsville is a veteran team, looking to rebound from the 12-17 season. They defeated Fisk in the team's only matchup in 2015. Both LWU and CU have defeated Reinhardt University this season.
Nicholas Beaird-Kennard and Trenton Connolly came off the bench to score 32 points, hitting 10-of-16 three-pointers against UT Southern. Freshman Kaleb Jeffries is Fisk's only player with double-digit points in every game this season. Simeon Williams aims to improve after scoring six points but secured 11 rebounds.
