NEWNAN, Ga. - The Fisk University men's golf team is set to begin its season at the Point University Skyhawk Invitational at the Newnan, Georgia Country Club, on March 2 and 3. The team is eager to demonstrate a strong mix of a promising newcomer and a trio of experienced players. Head Coach Robert Moore has a positive outlook, counting on a blend of youthful enthusiasm and veteran leadership to advance the program.
Team Roster and Key Players
Coach Moore's roster features four dedicated golfers. Returning sophomores Alec Johnson, Benjamin Ridley, and Gregory Terrell are ready to make a significant impact this season. Joining them is graduate student Henry Baskin, whose consistent scoring in the low 70s provides a strong foundation for the team's success. Baskin, a graduate of McGavock High School, recently transferred to Fisk from Webber University and has quickly established himself as a leader both on and off the course. Despite being new to Fisk, Baskin is setting high standards with his commitment and expectations for the team.
Baskin Back Home
"I am glad to be back home in Nashville," Baskin said. Coach Moore has worked hard to build the program. Our goal is to get better every day and win conference. We have a competitive schedule so we will be ready. We are ready to take a huge step forward."
Sophomore Trio Brings Promise
The team is poised for a successful season, with Johnson, Ridley, and Terrell positioned to be key contributors and building blocks for the program's future. The three gained experience as freshmen last season.
