Scott Participates in Titan Stadium Project
De 'Lesia Scott is helping the Tennessee Titans to engage with the community.
NASHVILLE- De'Lesia Scott has a lot on her plate. The junior power forward on the Fisk women's basketball team, just completed her second season on the court, helping her team to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history.
Juggling schoolwork while playing basketball is a tough task. Last summer, while other college students were enjoying the relaxation of the weather, Scott was working hard with an internship with the Tennessee Titans Sports Venue Real Estate Developmental Bridge Program, powered by Project Destined.
"I want to own commercial real estate, so this is a great opportunity for me," said Scott. "The Titans want to make this a community space all year. They will only use this space for 8-10 games a season. They are looking for ideas on the front end of the build. I am thrilled to be a part of this."
The stadium will be an indoor facility so it can be used year-round. The Tennessee Titans plan to create an entirely new atmosphere for Nashville with the new stadium planned to be completed February 2027.
The facility will allow them to bid for big events like the Super Bowl, College football and basketball championships and Wrestlemania. Scott's task is to bring ideas on ways to make the stadium accessible for the Nashville community during the off season.
"Not only will the stadium's remolding take the community into consideration, but they also plan to bring accessibility to the river that runs through Nashville," added Scott. "Where the stadium is now, is where they plan to build an outside community area right on the river. The new building will be directly behind the old stadium, in the parking lot. They want to make the stadium more community friendly, by having community centers within the stadium that anyone can rent. The team only have 9-10 games per year, so they find ways to utilize it on down days."
The impact they hope to bring to the Nashville Community: Better parking solutions for those coming to games, connect transit routes to the area for a better flow of traffic on game days, activate the riverfront, and to enhance Nashville by having the community in mind.
