Lady Dogs Travel to Trevecca for an Exhibition
NASHVILLE (NOVEMBER 3, 2024)—The Fisk University Lady Bulldog basketball team will head down Murfreesboro Road on Monday to take on crosstown foe Trevecca Nazarene University in an exhibition game. For Trevecca (0-0), this will be their third exhibition of the season and the first for Fisk (0-1). This is a chance for both teams to get better.
"When the ball is tipped, it doesn't matter if it counts; you have to get better," said Fisk head coach Victoria Crawford. "We have a lot to work on, so this will be a chance for players to earn playing time."
Fisk traveled to Freed-Hardeman on Saturday to open the season but fell 83-52. Laila Eliotti started the game scoring with a three-point basket, but it went downhill. Eliotti and Keeli Oliver-Burton hit threes late in the period, combining for nine of the Fisk 11 points for the quarter.
Freed dominated the rest of the way, winning all four quarters. Oliver-Burton led the way for the Lady Bulldogs, scoring 14 points. Eliotti chipped in 13, going 4-of-6 from behind the arc. HBCU Athletic Conference first-teamer Jayla Bibbs filled up the stat sheet, scoring ten points, grabbing eleven rebounds, and getting six steals.
