NASHVILLE (JANUARY 9, 2025) – The Fisk University Lady Bulldogs have endured an injured riddled season trust far. On Thursday, they will be the healthiest they have been since the middle of December when they take on the Oakwood Lady Ambassadors at the Henderson A. Johnson Arena.
"It will be good to look down the bench and be able to go through our rotations again," said Fisk head coach Victoria Crawford. That and playing at home will help. Hope that we can play well and get a win."
Burton-Oliver Steps Up in Win Over SUNO
Keeli Burton-Oliver was a hot topic all preseason. The transfer from Washington State University was the heir apparent to two-time all American. The first half of the season, she struggled to find her footing. She has scored in double figures in all three games since the calendar turned to 2025, including a 26 point effort in the overtime win over SUNO on Monday.
KEY MATCHUP: Oakwood won their last game against Wiley University. In that game the inside-out duo of Saniya Keys and Trenishia Adams carried the team. Fisk will need to use the size of Dee Scott and Burton-Oliver to try to hold down Keys who had 26 and 14 against Wiley. Look for Jayla Bibbs to have the assignment on Adams.
WMG Pick2Click
Jayla Bibbs is back from un upper body injury after missing five games, all losses. Her presence on both ends of the floor was missing. Look for her to have a breakout game.

Senior Leadership
The days of college players playing for four years at one school has become a loss art. The Fisk Women's Basketball Team has done a pretty good job of keeping players in school through their eligibility. With a mixture of returning players and transfers, Fisk started the season with nine seniors on their roster. The team heads into the second semester with seven.
Mia Robinson, Dee Scott and A'Niya Young are three holdovers from the highly decorated "Notorious Nine" recruiting class of 2021. They join Jayla Bibbs, Keeli Burton-Oliver, Courtney Lumpkins, and Ami McClow as the seven seniors.
Courtney Carrying
With key backcourt players out, senior Courtney Lumpkins has carried the bulk of the load in running the point guard position and scoring. Against the Virgin Islands, she scored a career-high 23 points. Lumpkins has scored double figures in the past four victories.
