TALLADEGA, Ala. - In HBCUAC East Division action held in Talladega, Alabama, the Fisk University Lady Bulldogs fell to Talladega College 79-69 despite standout performances from Kayla Lee and Ari Branch. Lee poured in 22 points and collected nine rebounds, while freshman Branch added 18 points to keep Fisk competitive throughout the contest. After a tightly contested first half, Talladega surged ahead in the third quarter, outscoring Fisk 23-12 to build a commanding 65-49 advantage.
The Lady Bulldogs struggled to handle Talladega's relentless full-court press, surrendering 16 steals out of their 25 total turnovers. Even so, Fisk managed to cut the lead down to eight points in the fourth quarter before running out of steam, as their short bench forced Branch, Teniya Williams (12 points), and Kennedi Wagner to play all 40 minutes, with Lee logging 39. Despite their efforts, Talladega maintained control down the stretch to seal the win.
This was the first game for the Lady Bulldogs, since the passing of men's basketball player Andre Bell.
