KENT, Ohio (Sunday, January 18) – Coming off competing in the Windy City Classic on Friday, the Fisk University Bulldog Gymnastics Team (Gym Dogs) returns to action this afternoon as they compete in Kent, Ohio at noon (CST), against the host Kent State University and West Virginia University. The meet will be streamed live on BoxCast.
With three meets under their belt, Fisk has shown flashes of growth and excitement each week and looks to continue building consistency across all four events. This will mark the second time the Bulldogs face Kent State, following the programs' first meeting last season, and the first time Fisk competes against West Virginia University
Vault
Vault will look familiar for the Bulldogs, with slight adjustments to the order to ensure the lineup builds momentum from start to finish. Makia Rosado and Aliyah Reed-Hammon are expected to close out the event in the five and six positions, providing experience and power at the back end of the lineup.
Bars
Bars remains an area of emphasis for Fisk as the Bulldogs continue to search for the right flow and rhythm. The same athletes are expected to compete, with a different order designed to generate early energy and allow the lineup to settle as the rotation progresses. The focus remains on refinement, confidence, and continued improvement through competition and practice.
Beam
Beam has been the Bulldogs' most consistent event this season and remains a focal point. Fisk will make small tweaks to the order to balance depth and consistency, including moving Liberty Mora earlier in the lineup to set a strong, steady tone. Reed-Hammon and Ciniah Rosby are expected to close the event. Rosby posted a 9.725 at the last meet, followed by a 9.775 from Reed-Hammon.
Floor
On floor, the Bulldogs continue working to put the pieces together. Jordynn Cromartie is expected to lead off the lineup, followed by Mora, who has posted the team's highest score on the event at Windy City.
Looking Ahead
Following today's meet, the Bulldogs will have a brief break before returning to action on Sunday, January 25, when Fisk travels to Williamsburg, Virginia to face host William & Mary University and Southern Connecticut State University.
