Fisk Gymnastics Battles Through Windy City Classic
CHICAGO, Ill. (Friday, January 16) - The Fisk University Bulldog Gymnastics Team (Gym Dogs) finished fourth at the Windy City Classic on Friday night at Navy Pier, continuing to evaluate lineup combinations as the season progresses.
Despite the final placement, the Bulldogs showed resilience throughout the competition, competing with fight while testing different combinations and gaining valuable experience. Fisk continues to use each meet as an opportunity to assess depth, refine roles, and build toward greater consistency.
Event Highlights
Beam
Beam was the Bulldogs' strongest event of the night. Ciniah Rosby posted a 9.725, while Aliyah Reed-Hammon anchored the lineup with a 9.775, providing stability and confidence for the team.
Floor
On floor, Fisk continued to adjust the lineup while gaining meaningful experience. Senior captain Liberty Mora led the way with a strong performance, posting the Bulldogs' highest score on the event with a 9.550. Freshman Makia Rosado made her collegiate floor debut in the anchor position after spending time in reserve earlier in the season, marking an important step forward as she returns to competition.
Vault
Vault featured another milestone moment as freshman Hadassah Diggs made her collegiate debut, contributing as the Bulldogs continue to build depth and evaluate lineup options.
While the meet featured ongoing adjustments, the Bulldogs saw several encouraging moments as they continue navigating lineup decisions and working toward cohesion.
Looking Ahead
Fisk will return to action quickly, competing in a double-meet weekend as the Bulldogs travel to face Kent State University on Sunday, January 18, at 1 p.m. ET. The meet marks a return to the alma mater of Head Coach Nuriya Mack and presents another opportunity for the Bulldogs to continue putting the pieces together as the season moves forward.
