WILBERFORCE, OH - With a full week of practice under their belt, the Fisk University Lady Bulldogs are excited to be heading back to Ohio for the fourth time this season, to compete this Sunday, February 15th. With steady improvements being made amongst multiple athletes, Fisk has decided to deep dive into their lineups and options for the success of the team as a collective. This weekend's competition will take place in Wilberforce, Ohio where the Bulldogs will compete in a tri meet against the Greenville University Panthers and the host Wilberforce University Bulldogs. Live scoring can be found in Virtius. The competition begins at 1:00 PM EST.
Lineup Outlook
Fisk is planning to maintain a steady pace of growth this weekend. Many lineups should look quite familiar except for giving a few athletes a well-deserved break.
Seeing Sydney
A familiar face will be competing for Wilberforce. Two-year Fisk gymnast Sydney Smith transferred to Wilberforce.
Balance Beam
The Bulldogs are slated to start on Balance Beam. Senior Liberty Mora is set to lead off the team and lay a strong foundation. Followed by junior Sophia Pratt, and seniors Allie Berkley, and Aliyah Reed-Hammon in the middle of the lineup to carry the team with confidence and experience. Senior Jordynn Cromartie and freshman Kennedi Johnson will wrap up the first rotation with beautiful lines and power.
Floor Exercise
Fisk has been consistently growing on floor in more ways than one. Johnson will start the rotation and attempt to set the tone for the remainder of the event. Freshman Makia Rosado, Reed-Hammon, and junior Ciniah Rosby will continue to build each routine on the last. Senior Zyia Coleman and Berkley will finish floor with some senior composure and class.
Vault
Vault has been one of Fisk's best events this season and this weekend, they plan to only get better. Johnson will start the Bulldogs off on vault. Coleman, freshman Hadassah Diggs, and Rosado will take on the middle of the lineup to ensure strength and excellence. Reed-Hammon and Berkley will once again close out the rotation with solid consistency and energy.
Uneven Bars
To end the afternoon, the Bulldogs plan to find every tenth they can to improve on bars. Pratt will set the standard for the team, followed by Johnson, sophomore Aiyana Thomas, and Coleman. Rosado and Rosby are set to round out the lineup with precision.
