Post Meet Story - at Wilberforce
WILBERFORCE. OH - After a full week back in the gym, the Fisk University Bulldogs traveled to Wilberforce, Ohio to compete in a tri meet against the Wilberforce University Bulldogs and the Greenville Panthers. Fisk began the competition on uneven bars, where junior Sophia Pratt opened with a strong routine. Freshman Kennedi Johnson achieved a season high with a 9.175 and a stuck landing, while sophomore Aiyana Thomas scored a solid 9.0. Senior Zyia Coleman led the team with the highest bar score of 9.475, followed by junior Ciniah Rosby with a 9.35, and freshman Hadassah Diggs anchoring the lineup with another impressive performance.
Moving to balance beam, senior Liberty Mora set the tone with confidence and resiliency. Pratt continued the momentum with a beautiful routine, and senior Allie Berkley made her first appearance of the night, scoring a 9.575. Coleman, Johnson, and senior Aliyah Reed-Hammon rounded out the rotation, demonstrating poise and skill.
On floor exercise, Johnson set the pace for her teammates. Mora earned a well-deserved 9.55, while Rosby achieved a season high score of 9.825. Coleman improved from last week with a 9.7, and Berkley wrapped up the rotation with a gorgeous routine earning a 9.6.
The Bulldogs finished on vault, one of their strongest events. Johnson led off with a 9.425, showing improvement from last weekend. Coleman contributed a 9.4, Diggs added a clean 9.575, Reed-Hammon scored a 9.425, and Berkley closed the rotation with an impressive 9.675, showcasing her experience and strength.
Fisk will return to the gym this week to continue training and adjusting for consistent growth throughout the season. Up next, the Bulldogs will travel to Washington, D.C. to compete at George Washington University against the Eastern Michigan Eagles, the Towson University Tigers, and the George Washington University Revolutionaries. The meet will take place on Sunday, February 22 at Noon CST.
