Lady Bulldogs Grab Seven Regular Season Honors at GCAC Championships
Third-place GCAC regular season finish propels a slew of regular season awards.

SHREVEPORT, La.-- After a banner regular season in which they won 13 games, the Fisk University Lady Bulldog volleyball team earned seven total awards and five out of seven personal honors. For the second consecutive year, Jadyn Brackins won the Defender of the Year award. The senior liberio was steady all year, scooping up 4.93 digs per set in conference play. She came just short of winning conference play of the year. Classmate Iyanla Thigpen made the most from her only year at Fisk. The Chicago native had 109 kills and 42 blocks against GCAC opponents and swung at an efficient .285 clip.
Nebthet Re will bring the Setter and Freshman of the Year awards back to Nashville. Re had a banner first campaign, finishing with 388 assists, which gave her 7.76 assists per set in conference play. The versatile Marietta, Georgia native also had 100 points on 67 kills, 27 aces and 11 blocks. Defensively, she had 130 digs, which gave her 2.60 digs per set in conference play. The three players were also named to the GCAC's All-Conference First Team.
Assistant coach Laikin Ramirez received the Assistant Coach of the Year award. Ramirez has been a vital part of the Fisk athletic program, helping to lead the Lady Bulldog team, while head coach Jessica Enderle took on the Assistant Athletic and Sports Information Director roles the past two seasons.
The Lady Bulldogs will be in action on Monday in quarterfinal action when they take on Wiley (TX.) University at 2 p.m. at the GCAC Championships in Shreveport, Louisiana.
