Volley Dogs to Host HBCUAC Round Up

NASHVILLE (September 27, 2024) –   If you love volleyball, Fisk University's Henderson A. Johnson Arena will be the place to be this weekend. Five teams from the HBCU Athletic Conference are in town for a Round-Up. The Fisk University Lady Bulldogs (11-11, 3-0 HBCUAC) will try to keep their hot streak going, playing in three matches. The other schools coming in are Philander Smith (AR) University, Rust (MS) College, Wilberforce (OH) University, and Wiley (TX)University.

Fisk, winners of four of their last five matches, has been getting steady play on the defensive end from libero Nialah Gupton. Gupton, the team's vocal leader, has helped with crisp passing to setter Trinity Britt, who is a four-time HBCUAC Setter of the Week.

The Lady Bulldog's strong transition game has been a key to Outside Hitter Reagan Jones' success. Jones entered the country fifth this week in kills. Her play last week earned her the Tennessee Sports Writers Volleyball Player of the Week honors and her third HBCUAC Attacker of the Week.

6:00 PM – Wiley at Fisk (11-11, 3-0 HBCUAC)

Saturday, September 28th

9:00 AM – Rust vs Wiley

11:00 AM – Philander Smith at Fisk
