Jeffries Scores Career-High 32 in Bulldogs’ Dominant Win Over UHSP
Six Bulldogs Hit Double Figures as Fisk Sets 21st-Century Scoring Mark
NASHVILLE - Freshman Kaleb Jeffries erupted for a career-best 32 points to lead six Bulldogs in double figures as Fisk University cruised past the University of Health Science & Pharmacy, 132-80, in a nonconference matchup in Nashville. The Bulldogs put on an offensive clinic, notching their highest single-game point total of the 21st century and ensuring every player who dressed made it into the scoring column.
Fisk wasted no time asserting control, posting a season-high 58 points in the first half to jump out to a commanding 28-point lead at the break. The Bulldogs only intensified from there, exploding for 74 points in the second half on an eye-popping 30-of-39 shooting performance. A decisive 17-2 run to open the second period quickly dashed any hopes of a UHSP comeback.
Coming off the bench, Jeffries was unstoppable, connecting on 12-of-19 shots, including 8-of-15 from three-point range. His scoring outburst sparked a balanced attack for Fisk, with Trenton Connolly adding 20 points, T.C. Coleman chipping in 13, and Nicholas Beard-Kennard netting 18. Kailon Benton Hamilton orchestrated the offense beautifully, dishing out a career-high 14 assists. Kahvonn Williams powered the team inside, recording his first career double-double with 13 points and a personal-best 11 rebounds.
The Bulldogs' collective effort and relentless pace overwhelmed UHSP from the outset. With everyone contributing, Fisk showcased their depth and offensive versatility in a record-setting night for the program.
Fisk will now prepare to jump back into HBCU Athletic Conference action when they host Stillman College on Thursday and Rust College on January 10.
