NEW ORLEANS - Fresh off a hard-fought road win at Stillman College, the Fisk University Lady Bulldogs are packing their bags for the Big Easy, where they will take on two formidable opponents in Dillard University and Southern University of New Orleans (SUNO) in nonconference games this weekend.
The trip to New Orleans marks another challenging stretch for a squad that has already faced some of the nation's best programs this season. Both Dillard and SUNO are members of the HBCU Athletic Conference, but the games are nonconference because Fisk is in the East Division, and the New Orleans schools are in the West.
"NOLA is a fun place to visit but this is a business trip," said Fisk head coach Victoria Crawford. "The tournament is a couple of weeks away and we need to see some teams in the other division. Playing them both on the road is only going to help us prepare for the postseason. This is a nice challenge."
Led by sophomore sensation Kayla Lee, who continues to impress on both ends of the floor, Fisk enters the Crescent City looking to build momentum as the postseason approaches. Lee, currently the team's leading scorer and a defensive powerhouse, is supported by standout freshman Ari Branch, who has delivered clutch performances as of late. and earned eight weekly conference honors, including Freshman of the Week the past five weeks. With senior post Dee Scott rounding back into form and sophomore Teniya Williams providing valuable minutes, the Lady Dawgs will rely on their core group as they navigate this tough road swing.
The Lady Bulldogs' depth will be tested as they battle through injuries and seek contributions from their bench. The New Orleans matchups will serve as a litmus test for the team's resilience and adaptability, especially with tournament play on the horizon. Fans can expect high energy and determination as Fisk aims to return home with a pair of signature wins from the Big Easy.
Next up after New Orleans: a pivotal road game against Simmons College on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.
