Lady Dawgs Take Second in Bowling Green Tri Meet

BOWLING GREEN, OH. - After an eventful Friday in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the Fisk University Lady Bulldogs made their way to Bowling Green, Ohio to finish up their double meet weekend. With some subtle lineup changes and little tweaks to tighten up routines, Fisk finished second in the tri meet with a score of 188.075 with host the Bowling Green State University Falcons winning the meet with a 192.800 score and the Wilberforce University Bulldogs scoring 179.450.
Three Get Season Highs in Beam
The Lady Bulldogs started the competition on beam, an event they continue to portray with a beautiful combination of poise and power. Senior Liberty Mora set a strong start for the team to build upon. Junior Ciniah Rosby and senior Aliyah Reed-Hammon displayed excellence with their routines, showing tremendous control and artistry. Not one, not two, but THREE Bulldogs achieved season high scores this afternoon: junior Sophia Pratt with a 9.425, and both senior Allie Berkley and senior Jordynn Cromartie with a 9.6.
Lady Dawgs Dazzle on Floor
Moving right along to the Floor Exercise, the Fisk showed growth as a team of strong athletes and strong performers. Mora made a statement with a solid 9.5 with an energetic floor routine that had the crowd engaged. Freshman Makia Rosado achieved a season high score of 9.6, showcasing her power and clean execution. Rosby also improved from past competitions and received a 9.75, a season high for her as well. To put a bow on the rotation, senior Zyia Coleman delivered a wonderful performance, earning a 9.425 with impressive tumbling.
Fisk Has Successful Vault Rotation
The Lady Bulldogs took vault in stride as they tend to do. Freshman Kennedi Johnson led the vault lineup with a 9.4, displaying excellent form. Classmate Hadassah Diggs followed that up with a strong 9.575, and Rosado added a 9.45 to the mix. Both Rosby and Reed-Hammon made improvements from their time in SEMO and received a 9.625. Berkley closed the rotation with a clean 9.6. Overall, this was a very successful vault rotation for the Bulldogs, reflecting their consistency and focus.
Rosby Gets Highest Score on Bars
Uneven bars have proven to be an area of consistent growth for the Lady Bulldogs this season. Hard work, grit, and team empowerment have been necessary for their ongoing improvements. Ciniah Rosby had the highest bar score of the day with a 9.725, demonstrating her technical skill and determination.
After another busy weekend, the Bulldogs will get back into the gym and continue to practice and make the necessary changes for the rest of the season. The season is not over yet, and Fisk is truly gathering themselves to continue to improve with each turn. Their progress and determination are evident, and fans can look forward to even stronger performances ahead.
