Price to Make History as First Gymnast Honored by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame
First HBCU National Champion adds Amateur Female of the Year to her expanding trophy case.
NASHVILLE (July 20, 2024) - The 2024 USAG All Around National Gymnastics Champion, Fisk University's Morgan Price will now add another first to her illustrious career. Today, she will become the first gymnast to be honored by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame as their Amateur Female Athlete of the Year.
With the honor, the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, known for recognizing outstanding sports figures from every discipline, now proudly includes gymnastics among its honored fields, with over 500 inductees to date.
"I'm honored to be awarded by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame, said Price. "Sports and gymnastics are an essential part of my wellness commitment. It gives me a chance to speak about the importance of movement while being a role model for young girls who share my dream of success in gymnastics," said Morgan Price, reflecting on the inspiration she brings to countless aspiring athletes. "Taking time to have self-care inclusive of physical and mental wellness is essential, and gymnastics plays a critical role for many."
Price's journey is a testament to commitment, excellence, and cultural pride. As she returns to Nashville this weekend, she will transition back into her junior year and third season as a Fisk University Gymnastics Bulldog. Morgan comes back not only as a two-time First Team All-American but also as the reigning USAG All-Around National Champion! Fisk is home to the first HBCU gymnastics team in the United States.
