WILBERFORCE, Ohio (September 6, 2025) – After a well-deserved week off, the Fisk University Lady Bulldogs regrouped and recorded a sweep on their two-game trip to Ohio. In their HBCUAC opener against Wilberforce, Fisk (8-4, 1-0 HBCUAC) wasted no time setting the tone, with Reagan Jones pacing the attack for ten kills and Kaia Barnett expertly orchestrating the offense with a match-leading 15 assists. Defensively, Nialah Gupton anchored the floor with 18 digs, denying Wilberforce any sustained momentum. The team's dominance was on full display in the third set, as Fisk hit a scorching .310 and limited Wilberforce to just eight points, while racking up eight service aces to cap a commanding performance.
The Lady Bulldogs maintained their high level of play against NCAA Division II Central State. Shelby Chamblin unleashed a powerful offensive display, tallying 11 kills and swinging at an efficient .409 clip. The setting duo of Barnett (18 assists) and Nebthet Re (11 assists) combined for 29 helpers, keeping the attack balanced and unpredictable. On the defensive end, Gupton continued her outstanding form with 15 digs, frustrating Central State hitters and helping Fisk secure back-to-back victories.
With contributions coming from every corner of the roster, the Lady Bulldogs demonstrated the depth, energy, and competitive edge that have become their signature. As they return home from Ohio, their momentum is undeniable—and their ambitions, higher than ever.
